So I suck at wedding planning.    Or planning at all really.   I'm entirely too unorganized..   I do however have a cute little counter on my homepage that is counting down the days until we tie said knot (at least that way I wont forget).  Seriously though.   I love the idea of planning my own wedding and I really want to do it, my mind is just in eight hundred million different places and I jump to something else before I get the first thing I was doing finished.  I'm pretty sure everything will work out and come together in the end and I'm lucky enough to have my fantastic Mom and best friend Hanna who will keep me in line and on track.    Tyler, my mom and I are going to look at a place Sunday where we may decide to have it..    That's progress right?  aaahhh     I just don't know.  help?

ahhhh!!

I am ENGAGED.     Last night at dinner while I was still looking over Texas de Brazil's extensive drink menu Tyler went to the salad bar and by the time I finally got my drink ordered he was on his way back.   I took my time because I didn't really know he was waiting for me.  When I got back to the table there was a ring box on the table..  I was so excited and couldn't stop smiling as I was opening it....   ANNNNND it was a ring charm for my bracelet he bought me for Valentine's Day...   I was a little disappointed, but it was really cute so I took my bracelet off and went to work putting the new charm on.   He was saying how he didn't even know if it would fit since it wasn't actually made for my bracelet and blah blah blah and when I was putting my bracelet back on he made the observation that it did in fact fit..   While I was looking at it he pulled out the real ring and said maybe this one will fit better though!    It was so very Tyler and really cute!    My ring is BEAUTIFUL he did a fantastic job at picking it out!   and it does fit perfectly!

We've decided on September 22, 2012.   That'll be right after our two year anniversary.  I can NOT wait.   Anyone have any tips or ideas for a cute little diy fall wedding???

Monday FuNdAy!!

WELL!  Today has been a pretty eventful day for me!    I woke up when Tyler left for work (I was lucky enough to have the whole day off) and did some blog stalking for what felt like a few minutes but turned into several hours..    Man, I tell you if you find a good one it can be toxic!!  A few of my favorites are mallorysmusings, myyellowsandbox and girlsgonechild..  You should check them out!  Anyway.  After my half day of blog stalking I decided I should probably do something and give my laptop a rest, so I started with sausage balls!    I'm just all in the mood for fall and they are paired fantastically with my chex mix I made the other day!  But that wasn't enough so I decided a trip to Michael's was in order.    I got a TON of stuff to make some fall wreaths.

The second is hanging on my front door.    I'm pretty proud of it myself, being a first timer and all.

It was a fun attempt to say the least.

On to the next fun thing I did....  Dinner!   Wait, no I fixed dessert first which is...

That's right..   HOMEMADE FUDGESICLES!!
OH I can't wait for these babies to freeze!
I guess dinner is an important part too and for that I'm doing Halibut steaks using a recipe I got from cooks.com.   So far they smell FANTASTIC..

..    I'll let you know how it turns out!

OH  and I almost forgot.   Saturday night I made some absolutely fabulous Reese's cheesecake brownies...   and OMG let me tell you they are as amazing as they sound.

I figured I'd leave you with something good!    Have a great week!

Fall is in the Air!! (well, sort of)

Happy Thursday!! How about this weather today!!  It feels AMAZING outside!!!  I hope everyone is having as fantastic of a week as I am!!   I sometimes let it slip my mind how extremely blessed I am.   I get too caught up with things that aren't going just the way I want them or with the fact that I have a continuous headache that just isn't quite as bad sometimes as others..  But truth be told, I am blessed beyond belief.   My life is SO unbelievably better this year than last.   I had a great summer with my fantastic boyfriend..  I'm just in such a better place this year!  Speaking of year, next Wednesday, the 21st will be Tyler's and I one year anniversary!!  He's super fantastic and I love him very much!!!    We've actually been looking at buying a house!!   I've of course found a few I think are awesome, but I don't know Memphis neighborhoods very well and all of the really cute ones I've found are in what Tyler considers bad neighborhoods..   Oh well.   I'm sure it's a lengthy process anyway, I'm just impatient and when I decide I want something I pretty much want it right then.

Me at the Arch
Tyler being extremely excited about the Arch
Tyler and I in front of the Arch

We went to St. Louis over labor day.   It was so much fun!!   We went to six flags on Saturday and we had a blast!!   Even though it was a holiday weekend there weren't that many people and the longest wait we had for a ride was about 10 minutes!   It was great!   Sunday was just spent exploring St. Louis.  We went to the Arch of course and it was beautiful!  We walked so much over the weekend..   Probably more than we did when we were in New Orleans!

The last time I posted, I put up pictures of the jars I got for them.   Well, I must say I've made a few and not only are they adorable in the jars they smell great!

just in case you can't see the names there (clockwise from top left) Black Raspberry Vanilla, Lemon Pound Cake, Strawberries and Cream, Sweet Pumpkin Spice and Blueberry Muffin!   YUM!!

I love Fall/Halloween so much I've already got out my ceramic jack-o-lantern Tyler bought me...    I wittingly put a sweet pumpkin spice candle inside.

Love it!

Another reason I love fall (other than the beautiful colors of the leaves and the cooler weather) is all of the WONDERFUL food!  I'm already making my second batch of chex mix as I type this!    That is one of my absolute favorite fall/football foods.   It's really easy to make...

I use a large roast pan.   The kind you can just throw away.

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

6 Tbsp butter
4 tsp Worcestershire sauce (I always add a little more)
3 tsp seasoned salt
*optional-garlic powder
2 cups corn chex
2 cups rice chex
2 cups wheat chex
3/4 cup mixed nuts
1 cup pretzel sticks
1 cup cheez-its

While your oven is preheating melt the butter in the roast pan.  Add Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt and garlic powder.  Mix well.  Then add the rest of the ingredients making sure to get the butter mixture all over the chex, pretzels and cheez-its.  bake for an hour stirring every 15 minutes then spread out on paper towels to dry/cool.  Try not to eat all that day!

I think that's enough for today..    I know what I'm having for breakfast this morning!!
